My first go at Studio lighting
*sigh* I am so in love with my new light (Alienbee 800) and a fellow photogs 50x50 westcott I can't think straight. I got to play for a bit yesterday (in preparation for todays newborn) and got some amazing images from this setup. This is my youngest..almost 20 months..she is getting big QUICK!!! Sadly, the westcott had to go home today:(
Thanks Jennifer! This was shot with a Canon 5D, 24-70 lens ss200 f/6.3 ISO 100 I just got the AB and this was the first time I used it, I just used the sync cord as I don't have any PW's or radio poppers yet (though they are on the list!)and that was that. I don't know if you shoot Nikon or Canon or which body you have but maybe your shutter speed is where you are having troubles? On the 5D your ss can only be 200...on lower models, 250.

I've had the worst time trying to get my 800 to fire. Can you share what you shoot & how it's set up?
Love the shots you got.
