Photoshop fun
Have a vision, but can't get it just right for some reason? Try to create the effect after the fact. In my head I could see my son walking in the distance into the fog, but couldn't get the shot I wanted because the environment just wasn't safe. But, I made it happen anyway. The 2 with daddy have been merged and tweaked to equal the final photo.
